Lets get to know Heather
I am married with two boys. I love creating things, spending time outside, and camping. I went to college for graphic design. Heather loves spending time with her boys in the workshop and teaching them how to create.
Why Blocks by Heather started
I started Blocks by Heather when my kids started school. I wanted a flexible schedule, and a creative outlet. Something different then my previous employment. When it first started out, it was more of a hobby. Heather even used a homemade CNC router. Since then, her business has grown and she continues to make custom pieces for families homes and gifts people will cherish for a lifetime.
What inspires her work
I am inspired by a few different things - my kids and their love of making, tinkering, and creating; My customers and their unique ideas; and the Michigan outdoors.
Heathers favorite piece
It's hard to pick a favorite piece, there are lots to choose from! One of my first projects, a baby block ornament, comes to mind. Every year I make quite a few of these. They are all meaningful to someone, and I like thinking of the families enjoying the holidays with their new baby.
What products does Blocks by Heather offer
We offer a variety of custom items. As our name implies, we have blocks – euchre “what's trump” blocks, and our original baby blocks. We also make signs – metal, wood, and coroplast. We offer custom stickers, banners, and canvas prints. We screen print shirts, and mark custom tumblers.
You can find us at www.blocksbyheather.com, on Etsy and Facebook as Blocks by Heather, or send us an email at blocksbyheather@gmail.com.
