Ferne Boutique Turns Ten August 2025!

A letter to the community for our 10th year in business!

Laura here, coming to you to share some thoughts and positivity in our 10th year in business. It truly feels like we are just getting started. This entrepreneurship journey of business ownership has been so many emotions, happy times, scary times and overall just such an amazing time for me to grow as a person and grow this business in so many different ways. 

I wanted to share some of the lessons I have learned in the last 10 years, hoping that will inspire others to grow. 

1. Failure is part of the job. It just is! You have to go into this with an open mind, knowing you are going to fail very often. I see failure as part of my day-to-day, because it is teaching me lessons and learning what I don't know. I have failed with money, hiring the wrong people, being in the wrong locations, trying the wrong styles, and so much more. I have been very frustrated by my own failures. The best failures have brought me to the things that are meant for me. 
2. Manifestation is how I got here. I decide I want something, and I go get it. I decide it is going to happen for me and it does. I tell myself every day, this is what I am going to achieve. This is who I am going to be. I had so many years of negativity and one day decide to stop choosing anything negative and to always focus on what can go right, instead of what may go wrong. I have always struggled with anxiety, so the positivity is always going to help me. The reason that I have gotten to where I am today is because of hard work, taking risks and staying consistent. 
3. Money is not the motive still, going into year 10. The reason I started this business was because what I started did not exist when we began. I feel that still rings true today, as so many corporate retail stores have closed, don't have products people want and don't provide a service to their customers. What we do is unmatched, because being a style resource for women is important. There is so much noise for products to buy buy buy, but what about what makes you feel good? Learning what styles fit you best, what colors you want to wear? All of these things are important and having a style resource is a big help! 
4. It's always been about the community, supporting other women and continuing to understand our customer. We aren't here to be fake, pretend or act like we are better than anyone else. Ferne is just a genuine place to be! We will always be that way so you can continue to expect consistency and authenticity from us. 
5. You can do literally anything you want. You need a positive mind, a really hard work ethic, willingness to do anything that you may need to do, and a strong passion for what you are doing.

This year, we will be offering a FUN and exciting giveaway in store on August 9, 2025. Any purchase made at Ferne (in-store and online) on August 9th will enter you into a giveaway to win free clothes for a year! One person will be selected to win this giveaway, which entails a monthly store credit of $150 to Ferne to spend on whatever you choose! The store credit for this giveaway is only valid for 1 year. The winner must be signed up for our rewards program and 18 years or older to win.
