Visiting Ann Arbor, Michigan this Spring? Here’s where you should go!

Whether you are visiting the University of Michigan campus or a sporting event this Spring, Ann Arbor has a lot to offer people of all ages, families, girls weekend getaways and more.

Let's start with coffee and food, I mean who doesn't want to visit a new city to try amazing restaurants? Ann Arbor has quite a few amazing local coffee shops that you will definitely want to visit when you are in town.

In downtown Ann Arbor, we recommend you visit Roos Roast, Hyperion, Avalon, Bitty & Beaus, and even the Shinola cafe serves coffee. The vibes and views at each one are very unique. All of these shops offer food items as well, and you can't go wrong grabbing something quick on the go as you walk around downtown. Other coffee shops we love around the city are Comet in Nickel's Arcade, Sweetwater Coffee & Tea, Cahoots and Vertex.

If you are coming in around lunchtime, you won't be disappointed in the cuisine and dining options. From fast casual to fine dining, there is something for everyone to eat in Ann Arbor. If you are heading downtown, check out Jolly Pumpkin, they have great pizza and salads and also brew their own beer. We love Stray Hen, Sava's and Fleetwood diner as well. Easy food options for everyone.

After you've eaten, it is time to do some shopping! You'll want to walk 4th Avenue to hit up Literati Bookstore, Le Bon Macaron, Dear Golden, Olympia Skate Shop, Today Clothing and of course Ferne Boutique. Our block is located between Liberty and Washington on 4th Avenue. A Dunkin Donuts just opened up right next store to us as well, if you need a convenient coffee or a donut. Some of our other favorite shops around Ann Arbor are Rock Paper Scissors on Main Street, and Thistle & Bess and Found in the Kerrytown District.

Ann Arbor is so gorgeous in the Spring, especially when everything is starting to bloom. As you are walking around, be sure to look at all of the great murals we have as public art. If you are bringing the kiddos, you definitely want to a trip to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum.

Our last recommendation is to visit the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum. There Is no shortage of things to see here and once May hits the peony garden is in full bloom! It is so beautiful and a perfect way to get outside this Spring. Visit https://mbgna.umich.edu/ to view all of the hours and information.

We hope to see you this Spring in Ann Arbor! For more of everything Ann Arbor visit www.annarbor.org to discover all things A2!
