While you're reading this weeks feature, think Mother's Day. It's only a couple of weeks away. All mama's deserve something special. We interviewed Brandon, owner of Regent Floral & Mercantile for this weeks highlight. Let's see what he has for mom in his shop.
Let's get to know more about Brandon
I grew up in the St. Louis, MI area, graduated from Northwood University with a BBA in Advertising/Marketing/Management. Currently live in Bay City with my Golden Retriever, Moose. Love to travel, but prefer to work.
Why did Brandon open Regent Floral & Mercantile?
After working in marketing and fund development for nonprofits for 10 years, I decided to combine two businesses that I started into a store front. An event management business + a seasonal maker's market = a flower shop that also sells handmade gifts, original art, and houseplants.
Regent Floral & Mercantile opened in May 2019. We are located at 924 Washington Ave, Bay City, MI 48708, right next to Ferne Boutique in Downtown Bay City.
What does Brandon have planned for the future of Regent?
We will be expanding the store in July 2021 so that we can have room to offer classes, have room for more pop-up shops, and have more space for our flower production. More details coming soon.
Where does Brandon get his inspiration?
I find inspiration from European designers, my floral friends, and travel blogs. The store itself is inspired by New Orleans, a place that I love. Favorite line??? I love our French soaps, Schitt's Creek mugs, original artwork, and floral designs.
What type of products can you find at Regent (remember think Mother's Day)
I select fun houseplants, handmade gifts, original art, and create unique floral arrangements. Customers can shop in our store while we continue to add more products to our website, RegentFloral.com. Regent Floral & Mercantile will be selling houseplants at The Great Lakes Market's 2021 events and we will also be adding more to our calendar. Nothing comes easy, you have to work harder than you think you need to for everything. And be prepared to always be tired lol
